GENERAL PROJECT OBJECTIVES
LA RIBERA ZEROCO2 – PROMOTING PUBLIC PROCUREMENT OF INNOVATION PROJECTS TO DECARBONISE THE RIBERA REGION
The main objective of the LA RIBERA ZEROCO2 project is to carry out preparatory actions aimed at promoting the funding of Public Procurement of Innovation (PPI) initiatives for goods and services not currently available on the market (or not widely available), related to sustainable energy within the municipal scope of the Ribera del Xúquer region.
The purpose of the LA RIBERA ZEROCO2 project is to develop an Early Demand Map for the Ribera region, through the analysis and identification of objectives, needs, and challenges that are not currently addressed by the market and can therefore be tackled through PPI by municipalities, with the aim of achieving an energy-sustainable territory.
Within this project, an energy-sustainable territory is understood as one that seeks development based on achieving the following objectives:
- Reduction of greenhouse gas emissions through:
- Promoting renewable and locally generated energy production.
- Improving energy efficiency in services, buildings, and facilities.
- Extending the lifecycle of materials, fostering a circular economy.
- Promoting sustainable mobility, based on transport modes with lower environmental impact.
Therefore, the LA RIBERA ZEROCO2 project aims to identify challenges and needs across the 47 municipalities of the Ribera region in order to:
i. Reduce greenhouse gas emissions;
ii. Promote a circular economy;
iii. Encourage mobility of people and goods with lower environmental impact.
The SMART BUILDING CPI 2021 project has been funded by the Valencian Innovation Agency (AVI) through the program for the strengthening and development of the Valencian Innovation System to improve the productive model for the 2021–2023 period, within the framework of the Public Procurement of Innovation (PPI) promotion program.
