MY SMART SCHOOL PROJECT –
Smart Schools (My Smart School)
Erasmus+ Programme
The MY SMART SCHOOL project is a participatory initiative involving all relevant actors in a town with the goal of achieving a smart school.
A smart school is a school that educates children to be competent but, at the same time, with values that foster sustainable development in our society and, furthermore, through ICT.
The MY SMART SCHOOL project consists of conducting an environmental assessment (energy, water, waste, biodiversity, and mobility) and an ICT assessment of the participating schools, identifying environmental problems and best practices of the CEIP.
In a second phase, through creativity workshops “our smart school” with the students, it will promote problem-solving using students’ imagination, and finally design and implement the most innovative ideas and projects made by students to solve school problems and improve the environment.
The project also includes a training program for teachers and educational managers to provide basic knowledge within the framework of developing smart schools.
One of the main activities was the 2 exchanges between students of the 5 CEIPs held in Livorno (Italy) and Isle sur la Sorgue (France). More than 130 students from La Ribera participated during 2016 and 2017, presenting the sustainability projects designed and implemented in their schools, while also exchanging culture and, in a nutshell, doing Europe.
In La Ribera, the Energy Area of Consorci de la Ribera coordinates the project, which also involves the CEIPs Blasco Ibáñez (Alginet), Heretats (l’Alcúdia), Evaristo Calatayud (Montserrat) and the municipalities of Alginet, l’Alcúdia, and Montserrat.
