Through this service, participating municipalities entrust the technical and legal management of tendering processes for municipal electricity and/or natural gas supply.
The service aims to support municipalities in the Ribera region in energy-related matters and to contribute to meeting the targets set out in the European Directive 2012/27/EU on energy efficiency, as well as complying with the objectives established by the European Commission, which require Member States to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 20% by 2020 and 40% by 2030.
This annual service enables economies of scale to be leveraged by grouping the energy supply needs of different municipalities, thereby achieving sufficient critical mass to reduce the cost of contracted energy.
Furthermore, in the procurement of electricity for municipal buildings and facilities, a requirement is established to supply electricity with a 100% renewable origin guarantee, thereby promoting the development of renewable energy sources.
